Default Some "Rare" Trains on Mullan Pass

Just a fun thread to share some screenshots of some of the rarer trains that have traversed Mullan Pass.

Around 2011, BNSF and CN teamed up to run coal trains from the Powder River Basin to Prince Rupert, BC via an exclusively BNSF/CN routing without having to bring CP into the picture. Keeping CP out of the picture meant a VERY roundabout routing: PRB to Billings, across MRL to Spokane, BNSF via Pasco, Columbia Gorge, Vancouver, WA, Seattle, WA, Vancouver, BC, then CN to Kamloops, to Valemount (just west of Yellowhead Pass), then west via Prince George toward Prince Rupert.

One such train is seen here ascending the Pass.

Due to flooding on BNSF's Hi Line in summer 2012, BNSF began sending a high number of eastbound trains over their Shelby to Laurel mainline and prevented unnecessary westbound moves on the route. As a result, Powder River Basin-originating coal trains that normally went up via Shelby towards Sweetgrass to get handed off to CP at the Sweetgrass border crossing instead went west over MRL.

A CP-powered 2x1 coal train climbs the east side of the pass with a 4-unit MRL helper cut-in mid-train.
