Default Pausing an activity - How long is too long?

Hi guys, I enjoy the activity randomization feature but I've noticed it resets whenever I save and restart a game. So my question is: For how long is it safe to PAUSE an activity before possibly causing damage to the pc. Is an hour or two okay do we think?

If I remember, I have paused over a looooong lunch and come back to an activity, no problems.

I would guess it depends on your PC specifically. Frankly, it's odd being concerned over hardware damage just from pausing an application. If your sig describes the rig in question then you have more than enough headroom for OR and add-ons without worry.

It is possible that some software or memory related issues might occur from very lengthy pauses, but nothing hardware damaging. That would be extremely strange.

I went to bed one night and left OR on pause....totally forgot about it.
When I turned the monitor on next morning, approx 9 hours after I vacated the computer desk, there it was, still sitting there waiting to be un-paused.
Which I did, without any dramas at all.

As someone else has stated, leaving it on pause won't cause harm to the hardware.
I've paused many programs for several hours and never had a problem.
