Default MSTS Route--IR - South Western Railways V2

    Hi

The route file in the file Library seems to be missing the rout

    Microsoft Train Simulator - Routes
    MSTS Route--IR - South Western Railways V2

    Or am I missing something?

    Cheers

Did you download the 800mb zip?

    Watch for the double folders.

The route itself was uploaded in 2018. The latest file should not be listed under Routes.

    Hi Daniel!

The route's final size is approximately 4 GB, so the creator hasn't uploaded the route file here. In the readme, you'll find a link to the route's official website, where you have to register using google forms to get access to the google drive link to the .rar (the .rar version is a 2GB download). This is a crucial step because the previous versions of the route were apparently pirated by Auran Trainz players and the creator wants to avoid that.

Also, if you've got the convim software, you can convert all the terrtex files in the route from .ace to .dds which reduces the overall route size to roughly 2.3 GB. Yashas has used satellite terrain textures so the terrtex folder makes up a majority of the route's size. Do keep in mind that .dds textures will only work in Open Rails and not MSTS.

I hope that clears everything up!

    Hi Baldwin!

That was a different route by Anup Shettar. His route covered the Bengaluru - Mysuru and Mysuru - Chamarajanagar sections. There have been no updates released for it, and frankly speaking, you should probably avoid it (Mr. Anup Shettar, if you're reading this I apologise). I'll tell you why.

This route, IR SWR was created by Yashas BN last year. The first version covered the Bengaluru - Dharwad and Bengaluru - Shivamogga sections.

The recently released second version covers the Shivamogga - Talguppa line and also includes the Bengaluru - Mysuru line, in addition to the existing Bengaluru - Dharwad and Bengaluru - Shivamogga lines.

The two routes (the one by Anup Shettar and the one by Yashas) are not the same, but they have the same name. I don't know why.

If all of this sounds confusing, that's totally understandable.

Thanks for the explanation of the two different routes using the same name. However, the initial confusion arose because the activity file was uploaded under Routes, so people were expecting to see a route.
