Question Converting all textures of a route to .dds

I've decided it's time to scrap the .ace file format altogether, and convert all the textures in all of my routes to .dds. The .ace format is old and it takes up too much space. I, for one, would prefer it if my routes took up lesser space. The size of my current setup is somewhat alarming, so I've decided to bring it down. Since Open Rails supports .dds as an alternative, and TSRE and the Shape Viewer support it too, it's the only way forward.

My only question is, how do I go about this? There is no batch converter software that converts .ace textures to .dds, except convim. And convim is an old software that usually discards the alpha channel when it converts images to dds, making it useless.

TL;DR do the users here know any utility I can use to convert a huge number of .ace files to .dds?

Okay so probably calling convim "useless" is a bit harsh, considering that I just used it to convert all my terrtex files (none of which have alpha channels of course) to .dds. It's extremely useful, it would be far better if only it would convert files while preserving their alpha channels.
