    Default Shapes Disappearing with OR

Hello again, another scenery type question. On the USAX Route (Metro North), I have found that some of the shapes that make up the Stamford Station are disappearing while making a stop there. I am getting 75-83FPS when this happens. Is it an issue with "Viewing Distance"? LOD's of the Model? Something simple that can be changed easily?
    I am running Version = T1.3.1-1841-g418a87cf4 Build = 0.0.7888.33220 (2021-08-06 18:27:20Z)
There is nothing in the log file related to this. Also it is the only building that does this. It is not a one piece model, several located shapes make it up. Should I just ignore this and carry on? It is a well designed structure that fits well.

Thanks for any help on this.

Sounds more like a volume sphere problem. Open the shape in Shape Viewer and if it starts really zoomed-in, the volume sphere is too small. That's changed by making a minor edit to the .s file. I think steam4me has something on this

When I built one of the long factories for the Springfield Terminal I had to divide it into seven objects and reassemble it in the route because of the number of polygons was well over the limit. Never having done this before I just made each object by cutting them from the complete factory and pasting them to a new drawing. I did make an attempt to create the new objects from the outer parts of the drawing working inwards but in the end there were a few that were just offset to one side or the other.

As a result, when you run past the factory you might notice that after you get near the end of one part of the factory where that part is offset, it will disappear. Is that what you're seeing Don?

Yes and no. Everything looks to be lined up correctly and displays just fine as the Train approaches it. As the train stops, the Overhead walkway disappears from view through the windscreen, but in View #2 outside it reappears, it is not there right away.
I will the suggestion by Mr. Ebner and see what happens if I find that part in SFM.
BTW, in Shape Viewer all four parts appear at different "Distances", could this reflect on this as an issue?

    Hi Don,

When shapes disappear for my it's usually when viewed at 45 degrees or more from the camera. Maybe you're looking at a different angle when you are in view 2 then from the inside cab view.

Not sure how you would correct the problem without the raw files. The problem is the part is not centered and is sticking out of it's sphere. What I've been doing for a few years now id to add "ledger boards" about 40 feet under my drawing, to the top right, and bottom left corners. When I divide a drawing I make sure each part has the pair of ledger boards so everything stays centered and that eliminated the problem of disappearing parts.

I just checked the shapes, and the volume spheres all look to be good enough, but you can try increasing them anyway and see if it helps. There is also only one LOD on each shape, set at 2000m, so I don't think that's it, either

Is any part of the model(s) rather tall? I'm using Railworks now, but I seem to recall with tall buildings you had to make a adjustment in the .SD file I think.....
ESD_Bounding_Box numbers? Been so long I just can't recall what I did, but the tall parts of my building were disappearing at certain angles until I adjusted those numbers and I can't even recall how those numbers were calculated..... Heck I might have used SFM to achieve it.

When you checked them, did you find that the one shape, the Pedestrian Bridge/Ramp over the tracks, it is Shape (c) that is disappearing, has a View in SV at 161 odd meters?

It didn't seem terribly off to me, but it could indeed be the cilprit. Large shapes like that sometimes have multiple volume spheres, and it's theoretically possible you could fall into a blind spot where the shape unloads. I can do a more detailed inspection when I get home

Yes, that would be good. I had a look at the S4M Site, and the only part pertaining to this, LOD's, refers to new construction with TSM. The rest of the station assembly appears fine. A small thing, but hey. I just do have the experience with these kinds of things, I am still learning though! Thank you for this.
