    Default NEC Taking the Baton

Well pretty much self explanatory. I'm taking over modeling the NEC from Gusthegator, which he had released the unfinished route to the file library. So here's where we are at now. Very good trackwork between Washington DC and New York but there are portions which needed rebuilding and rebuilding was done! As of current I have rebuilt New Carrollton as to begin adding the Washington Metro Orange Line tracks so far to Landover. Baltimore Penn tracks have been completely rebuilt and a new station will be modeled. Currently working on Newark and finishing up New York Penn Station, which I actually have lots of practice doing on some of my own projects. Newark is definitely a challenge but is coming together nicely. Next will be Philadelphia and Wilmington along with building of stations along the way. What helps out is some of the southern stations and portions of the New Jersey stations are modeled between myself and another party say 10 years ago. So this is where we're going with this. Off the bat this is a huge venture and Lucas has done excellent work with what's there already. The route was to follow that of the Northeast Regional which means south of DC to Norfolk Newport News, Lynchburg, and Roanoke (maybe) and north to Boston and Springfield (fingers crossed). Pics will come as I feel updates are ready to be presented but understand that this is a massive project and will take some time to complete as I'm just a man damnit and I do have a life outside the sim and other projects to focus on so please, please, PLEASE! be patient. Here's what I have so far. Lucas if you're seeing this I'm hoping the progress will bring you back.

New Carrollton which now has the DC Metro into the mix along with the New Carrollton Yard being built out.

Just putting in my support for the northern section of NEC -- I hope and yearn for the entire NEC -- Especially the high speed sections of the former Stonington Line and the Boston & Providence RR.

The CT, RI, and MA sections have been done before: https://www.trainsim.com/vbts/showth...etting-lengthy
...but unfortunately it was appended onto the PRR route. Maybe their tracks can be somehow spliced into this route?

That won't work and still a form of piracy. This is an entirely new route from the ground up so new track and tiles will have to be laid north of NY. There are some scenic objects I have already modeled from previous projects so that becomes a time saver. For now, I'm rebuilding trackwork around the major stations. Baltimore and Newark were completely redone and currently rebuilding Washington with hopes of expanding into Virginia to atleast Alexandria and the Van Dorn area.

    Hi Cory,

Quite the ambitious project - looks good so far - best of luck with it. Go Navy!

Laying track comes out to perhaps 5% of the actual effort involved with building a rural or desert route.

For an urban route, it's less than 2%.

    Good luck.
