Default Problem with 05630 Nagaon Weekly Special act

    Hi

I get a fatal error when I try to run the above act.

I have checked the log and fixed the broken paths but
    still get the error.

I see other errors but do not understand how to fix them.

I would appreciate any help give.

    Thanks

    Daniel,

You did say you fixed the path but the log says path is a problem:
Warning: Cannot find main track for node 201 in path D:\1MSTS\ROUTES\NFR\PATHS\05630 Player Path.PAT
Warning: Invalid path D:\1MSTS\ROUTES\NFR\PATHS\05630 Player Path.PAT for AI train : 05630 Nagaon Weekly Special ; train not started

The error says you have a TDB problem. Using TSRE visit that Node 201. TSRE has a 'Hack' feature that may be able to fix your problem.
    and
Try using the Track Viewer (click the Tools button on the OR opening screen to better view the problem.

    Hi Vince

thanks for your advice, I used the OR Track Viewer and did a repair,
I did not see any advice that the repair had not worked so I assumed it had.

I have not used TSRE so I will see if I can get the author to fix the problem.

    Regards

    Hi Daniel,
Unless a patch has been issued, which I missed (!), the 05630 Player path appears to be missing !!

    MSTS_ActMan reports it as missing!!

    Hello Ged & Daniel,

No amount of repairing the path with any of the editors will work unless the missing TrackNode 201 problem is fixed.
That process can only be addressed by using the TSRE Editor as I doubt the MS Route Editor is capable.
    Daniel,
    On using TSRE:
Gather up and read all the documentation as you can.
A LOT! of information at Elvas Tower in the Contributed Software threads.

Warning: Cannot find main track for node 201 in path D
I'm not at all certain this warning means the node is absolutely missing, it could just mean that because the path is so corrupted or improperly created, that OR simply cannot find the node, to position the player train at the start point.

I've encountered this same warning of not finding a track node, ignored it, and by moving the starting point of the path solved the problem.
Therefore, my instinct would be to try to fix the path, by first moving the starting point, then checking the rest of the path for any problems...using trackviewer this is not too onerous.

    Gentlemen,
In the activity I downloaded, the '05630 Player Path.pat' file is missing. This is the Player's path, so how can Open Rails report a node problem with it when the path is not present??!!
The path is not already supplied with the route.

I don't have the stock installed so am not able to run the activity.

    Cheers,
    Ged

Yes, you would think OR would report something like "Player Path is missing"...instead of the message about the node.

    Hi Ged

good call, this stuff takes so much stuffing about
it is possible that this is one of the acts that I had to
get from the creator because of the errors.

It is common for Indian Acts to have missing files so
you have to subscribe to their channel to get a link
    to a proper download.

I have no problem with that, these creators spend a lot of time
with very little reward so a "like" on their site is not hard.

The trouble is remembering what happened and when, I have no
emails supplying the link to the "proper" download but I have
probably deleted it which I would have once I downloaded the file.

In the end while trying to fix the problem I have completely stuffed the
    act so will start again.

So thanks to all who helped, I will get back to you, depending on my workload,
with a lifting of some restrictions I am once again in demand....

    Regards

Sorry, mate, but I can't agree with you there. A lot of us spend time creating things for others to use without any reward! We do it because we enjoy doing it. We don't look for any reward, except, maybe, a 'thank you', but it's beholden on us to ensure that whatever is uploaded, works as well as possible. We all make mistakes, but, in this case, there's no excuse for missing a path file because it's so easy to check that an activity works (even without my utilities!!).

    Cheers,
    Ged
