Default Some of the F-keys not working

F6 Beeps but never displays station and siding labels. Shift F6 will display a line labels hidden

F8 view switches, beeps, nothing happens.

This might be a drivers aids problem. I have several drivers aids in the GUI. However I do not remember what to edit to call a drivers aid.

    Any help appreciated.

PS: This problem shows up on all routes.

    Hi Dave,
it sounds more like a computer problem than anything to do with Open Rails.
If the 'drivers aids' you referred are for MSTS, I'm pretty certain they won't work for OR!
When you start an activity, or Explore mode, press F1. Is the Help screen displayed? If not, your PC's system has the problem. Is it a laptop? If so, make sure the F keys are functioning correctly - may need to press a key called Fn. If the Help screen is displayed, check the key assignments.

    Cheers,
    Ged

Please take time to read the OR manual, it is an excellent and comprehensive guide...you'll do yourself a favor.
    (Section)7.4 Driving aids
Open Rails provides a large number of driving aids, which support the player during train operation.
    7.4.1 F1 Information Monitor
The F1 key displays the following set of panels in a tabbed format, selected by clicking with the mouse
    on the desired heading:
Key Commands: displays the actions of the keyboard keys
"Shift+F" key will bring up other options for those F keys that have multiple selections.

F1 works help is displayed Not a lap top. Hi end desktop. All F keys work as they should except those mentioned here. Key assignments are correct. ORTS runs fine except for these keys.

I'm sure you've already checked but make sure your F-Lock key isn't turning off your function keys.

That's caught me out a few times in the past.

I have about 5 different drivers aids in the GUI folder. One for transparent, others for different configurations of the aids. It seems to me I remember there is a way to active only one of these at a time, perhaps by changing to file name of those not used. Just don't remember exactly.

Open Rails does not have, or utilize, any GUI folder

I should mention F4 and F7 display fine. I would like the station and siding label (F6)to work and the switch view (F8) Only those two F keys do not function (6and 8) They are programed correctly.
