    Default dash 9

I have some locomotives that are aliased to the Msts dash 9 for the sounds and cabview I want to change the horn sounds for certain locos that are aliased to the dash 9. but if I change the sounds for one locomotive it will change the sounds for all the locos aliased to the dash 9. Any suggestions?

Make multiple copies of the .sms files, and change the horns in each copy. Just make sure to change the name of the aliased sound file in the .eng sound lines. I do this all the time

Sounds like a good time to introduce you to the steam4me website, with tons of tutorials on mostly MSTS-era files, like .sms files:

    https://msts.steam4me.net/tutorials/sms_doku.html

Basically, you have to find the line that controls the horn file, and change the name of the referenced .wav file to match your new horn
