Default A Question about OR Northshore Mining SD70ACe Set

    Hi all,

I downloaded the Northshore Mining loco. The readme file says "make a consist and go". However, OR crashes and the error message says it could not find std_eng_sd70ace.inc.

Where can I get this file? Is it part of a payware package?

You're sitting in the wrong pew....I don't know if you'll get much response putting this under OR Route Projects?

However, I'll give it a go....I see from the set that there is an OpenRails folder with eng include files in it....so I'm thinking you've never used these, Yes?

To run the locomotives using the default MSTS eng files and simple physics in OR do this...
    1. Find the OpenRails folder look for the Cabview & Sound folders...you'll see the "OpenRails" folder...change it's name to "NO_OpenRails"...problem solved...OR will not use the folder and the locomotives will run with reasonable accuracy in OR.

If you wish to use the eng include files in the OpenRails folder you'll need more downloads, and some reading about how to use the include files and the common.inc folder. Not hard, lot's of OR users are using some sort of setup to take advantagge of OR's advanced physics.

IF you decide you want to try using the OpenRails folder and the eng include files therein...post in the Open Rails Discussion about how to use the Common.inc folder and include files...also there is plenty of information in the manual.

I didn't consider that in the readme file... Guess it shows how much I mess with rolling stock.

    Gerry's advice is correct, though

First of all I apologize for posting this thread in the wrong place.

I found the standard engine file right here in the download library. Problem solved.

    Thanks for replying.
