    Default Mr. Big Stuff - 2.0 - B&M R1A Mountain

    Hi Folks,

    RE: Boston and Maine R-1-A.

I'm about done with my shape - more than doubled the polys on my old locomotive from years ago. Converted from an R-1-D to the R-1-A.

Looks good. I used to live in Massachusetts and have a warm spot in my heart for the B&M. :-)

    Hi Steve,

Yeah - I think they had a pretty cool steam fleet. This was their biggest and best - it was also one of the largest Mountains ever made. They wanted the performance of a Northern without the weight or cost. A Northern would have required track and bridge updates. I also like the fact they stuck with Pacifics until the end of steam. Paul Charland’s CT River Route inspired this locomotive. Thanks.

    Regards,
    Scott

    Hi…

Thanks! Yeah - LOL - I’ve been doing this for a while - one of these days I need to give Blender an earnest try.

As always, Scott, absolutely beautiful. And does that video evoke the diversity of roads and car types in the steam-diesel era!

    Hi Dave,

Thanks - - - like you - I prefer colorful traffic emblazoned with proud heralds representing roads from far flung corners of the country - to the spartan drab utilitarian pallet of the modern era.

    Regards,
    Scott
