    Hi Folks,

Well given the overwhelming response to my Mikado - literally hundreds of hours of work shared for free - the event horizon of the file library sucks in another one. Unless I missed something - not a single comment - good or bad. Uploading files around here has to be one of the most anticlimactic and unrewarding things one can do.

    I guess I'm a glutton for punishment.

    Latest - skin'n the beast.

Easy there, big guy. :-) The world doesn't have enough B&M steam engines, even simulated ones. I'm happy to see this. I was in the Philippines for three weeks with only my phone and sometimes without an Internet connection, so I didn't look at Trainsim while I was there. Carry on with your modeling work, please!

    Hi Steve,

Well - welcome back. I haven't been to Subic since before the volcano.

Yeah - LOL - I guess I'm getting old. It's not this one specific instance - it's more like its par for the course. Hundreds - even thousands of downloads - and nary a peep. It gets discouraging.

Well - you'll be happy to know I have a P4 started and I also have schematics for the Berk and K8 Consolidation. The only one of interest that I'm missing is their Santa Fe. We'll see what time brings. I've only recently discovered passenger operations in TS and I like it. It's pretty cool blasting along at 60 mph keeping your machine in tune. Fortunately - Paul's great route can accommodate it.

    Regards,
    Scott

I am a firm believer in the concept of 'no news is good news', since the majority of feedback I get is bug reports. I'm also not a people person, so 'download and shut up' is a great model for me.

That said, your steam power is top-notch stuff. Even I, a die-hard diesel guy, know that. That's why I used your Mikado (I think it was the Mikado, I'm not so sure now) in the banner image for my AAR semaphore set

    Hi Travis,

Hah - perhaps I've been looking at this all wrong. LOL. OK - my pity party is over. Thanks for the kind words - it's been a pleasure working with you on implementing your fine signal sets. My last spurt around here - I removed all the signals from Paul's route (pictured above) and I'll be installing both your lower quad semaphores and your new B&M signal sets where appropriate. Honestly - I can't wait to get to the point where I have a fully signaled route again - as running it "dark" doesn't do much for me.

Oh - and Jovet sent me his animated switch stands - I'll be adding them too.

    Regards,
    Scott

I mean, I'm personally enjoying the hell out of the Rutland steamers you released, but I'm more a MEC fan than I am a B&M fan, though these B&M units will look fantastic on Paul Charlands Conn River Route!

    Hi Shawn,

Thanks - glad to hear - I uploaded a MEC paint to the lib as well. A much nicer paint job in my humble opinion - just not at home on Paul's route. The Mikado was about as fancy as MEC got with steam locomotives - although I read they purchased some old B&M 2-10-2's during WWII.

My apologies for not acknowledging your contributions sooner, meant to do it but didn't get around to it.
The Mikado is a beautiful machine as is the LHR 2-8-0 which I run regularly on the LHR 40's version.
I can remember the steam era on CP & CN, so these models bring back some good times. Have to admit though that the steamers are a little harder to operate than diesels. Guess the same was true on the prototype locos also.
    Thanks again.

    Hi Don,

Thanks for the kind words. Yeah - the LHR is my number one railroad - I've tinkered with Rich's route for many years but track laying isn't my forte. I've tried - I can do it - I'm just not good at it. His route needs some major track and road work to get it where I want it. My last three steam locomotives - actually four with this updated Mountain discussed here - all belong on the LHR. I can do scenery. I'd love to get a chance to make Rich's LHR look like the image I posted above from Paul's CT River.

I just loaded the LHR Consolidation a few days ago and realized how much it needs an overhaul as well. I'm currently using (4) 2048 texture sheets to clothe the bulk of the locomotive. The greater texture real estate and the ray traced "baking" makes all the difference.

I've shared this before - but if you haven't seen it - this Furler guy took the BEST steam locomotive shots I've ever seen and he documented the LHR well.

Paul seems to excel at trackwork - his rails are well laid, smooth, and a pleasure to run on. It's pretty much the only route I use anymore. That's a big part of my inspiration and focus on B&M steam.

    Regards,
    Scott

    Scott, don't sell yourself short!
Although I'm more an early diesel guy, I appreciate and use your L&HR Mountain pack regularly on Rich's route.
Just as Paul may be considered the "King" of route builders, you're definitely the "King" of steam locomotive builders in my book!
Your creations are way beyond anything available commercially.
I wish I had the skill set and the patience that you seem to have in spades to develop models of this caliber.

    Phil
