Default Changing handrail colors from the cabview, help

    Good morning,
I downloaded several Western Pacific GP40 sets from the library. I didn't like the cabview that came with them so I tried to find something else with an orange nose. The EMD STD 1 set in the library here didn't have any WP but they have an ICG with the orange nose so I was going to use that. Then I noticed the WP units have black handrails instead of the ICG orange/white.
So I opened up the ace file in TGA Tool and sent the cab image to paint and colored the handrails black. I saved the work in paint (as a .bmp) and closed it out and the changes now show up in TGA Tool. Now what would my next step be in TGA to finish this up and get the ace file placed back into my shared cabview folder?

    Thanks

I might be able to help you with this.

Once you open the .ace file, you will notice that the file contains both a texture part (this is the part you are editing) and an alpha layer (it contains black and white outlines). When you edit the texture file and want to convert it back into an ace file, you first need to create a new alpha layer. I use Photoshop, but I believe you can do this with many other photo editing tools. The good thing is that you don't need to draw a new alpha layer, as you can just copy and paste the one you found in the original ace file.

Once you have both the texture file and the alpha layer properly aligned, you can save the file as tga. Then, open the same file with AceIt and convert it into an ace file with alpha layer.
