I was under the impression that the SD9E model included with this route was brand new, I've not seen it anywhere else before? Unsure if it is a DTG creation, or, DTM or, another 3rd party developer, or even Milepost Simulations (I didn't know he created locomotives), it does look quite good anyway, unsure about the route though, they all look similar these days, rocks and ground texturing wise, and single track running limits the immersion factor of a busy line with regular passing trains, which is not exactly awe-inspiring for me personally.

Yeah, but he also lists the other items as being "required", Mike.
I have the freeware version of the standard Scalerail, but not the payware versions of ATSF or SP Expansion.
Also I don't intend buying ($20+) the Armstrong Powerhouse Sky & Weather Enhancements.

The route is fine as it comes.

It may well but I am sure it is based on the Rio Grande unit released back around 2014/2015.

Fair play Bruce, i thought there were freeware versions of the other Scalerail track.

AP sky and weather you don't need. Just means you would have standard DTG skies.

If you are happy with the route as it came, then it is all academic anyway buddy.

There seems to be an issue with 3DTrains site. Marc hasn't been around to allow access for the downloads or reply. Don't know why but people are upset as they purchased items but have never received a download link. At least this was the status two Days ago.

I see this Mt.Shasta route is now on sale at 40% off, for the next 7 days, but, it was only released last month, is it that bad that they've heavily discounted it? The majority of reviews on Steam seem to be favourable of the layout, and the included locos do look good, so, I'm very puzzled at this policy, and I presume those who bought it at full price are feeling a bit miffed now?

Well DTG having a lot of sales recently with this Simfest (which may actually be a Steam idea) hot on the heels of March Madness and no doubt followed by the Easter sale. Strange that this Shasta route should be in the sale as most TS stuff is still full price, at least the items I was eyeing up.

The way things seem to go, if one waits long enough, stuff goes on sale dirt cheap compared to the original price. But's there's still a chance a item never goes on sale or DTG pulls it all together. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Toying with the idea of getting this. The route itself seems to be getting excellent reviews but the bundled locos are apparently old Kuju or early Railworks models. So I assume we are back to going up a 2% gradient dragging 8000 tonnes in Notch 3? Suppose I could sub in the GTEL from Sherman Hill. The other rub coming back to TSW from TS is finding only a handful of scenarios included as opposed to a full days timetable.
