Well, I haven't a clue what DTG are doing, I've also noticed that they have a few other items in this week's Sale, one of them is the BR Class 700 Multiple Unit, which was only released on 27th January this year, and it's a whopping 65% discount already, have things gone to the dogs in London, are DTG desperate for money, or, something, we've never had this sort of immediate discount on recently released DLC before, and it's only been a matter of weeks, not, months, very strange indeed.

I bet some folks are seriously miffed now......

A non miffed buyer, says the route is excellent. Only downside for me is length @ only 108 miles roughly.

Sorry boys i know you hear that complaint, time and again.

Well this sale seems to be a Steam initiative, but I would imagine with pretty much all DTG efforts being directed into Spirit Of Steam for TSW, they have a bit of a shortfall in other stuff coming out but need to keep paying the bills!

Anyhow I've just dropped Shasta in my Steam basket and will have a play after tea. Always a sucker for anything in SPP red and black.

Got to go and make mine now

I hope you like it. I prefer US addons in TS20xx all day long, compared to TSW2

The other rub coming back to TSW from TS is finding only a handful of scenarios included as opposed to a full days timetable.
One thing I can report is wherever it sets you down on startup has one steep grade. As soon as you release the brakes you better ram it in to forward and step on the gas! Otherwise you'll be rolling downhill at a pretty good clip out of control. Also should point out I checked it out while in edit mode. Wanted to see just how bad things were. It's not a bad route. I don't like the track, but most DTG routes have track I don't care for. At some point I'll go in there and start replacing the track with Scalerail.

Although I like the route, I readily admit to looking forward more to the one under creation for Open Rails.

The route is nice though, as with most hilly or mountainous routes in TS, the limitations of the terrain painting tools are apparent. But close up the appearance is very agreeable.

Locos, well yes they do seem a bit aged with low res cabs and the horns while sounding nice on a long blast, don’t clip very well for the short blast. Brakes on the SD9 are a bit tricky too, driving from head out and using the HUD very easy to go into emergency. Running the first switching scenario, it took me three attempts to find the route the author intended out of KF yard, but once that was overcome very agreeable. The switching was like Run 8 but with 300% better graphics!

It’s a shame there don’t appear to be any ready supplied scenarios that run the length of the line so I may have to see what I can brew up. The one downside of TS vs TSW is not having that all day timetable at your fingertips, too.

But overall a reasonable purchase, maybe not worth full price but at £14.99 about the right cost.

How very very dare you I paid full price back a while Vern, still prefer to waste my money on TS20xx than super sterile TSW2

No idea why i reactivated it now, hardly looked at it. Cab motion in TSW2 is laughable, put it up to 100% and it's like being a sea in a force 8.

Anyway Shasta, bit slow going from the southern (western) end. Agree with you in regards terrain painting limitations.

Use QD for end to end Vern, there is AI.
