    Question Model texturing

I have seen many people like Bgp, Bsam, Trg, aniruddh,etc...are doing models textures very smoothly and it looks realistic......Can you tell me such apps that can be textured to OR models???What is the way to do more realistic textures????? By dust texture or not.....

    Hi.

Textures are a pretty simple affair - currently only a single texture layer can be used - no bump maps or PBR textures - you can use DDS or the proprietary ACE format. For more realistic results - you can do "texture baking" with ray traced models - Blender does it internally - I use POVray myself. I used Paint Shop Pro to texture with the NVidia DDS plugin.

I've been using Paintdotnet for several years now.
It's open source. Written by and for the users.
With the number of plugins available it'll do just about anything you'll need it to and it handles .dds natively.

Try starting with a painting guide like this one... its OLD but it still applies.
