My old confused.

Hi, all. I'm getting back into train sims after a long break. I dusted off my old i3 6100, 16GB ram and Sapphire r9 380 nitro computer.

I'm getting good frame rates with Trainz 2012. MSTS will install but not run. Found that out last night. Not a big deal since I'm after Open Rails. Found out I need .Net 4.7.2 for Open Rails, need to figure out how to update Windows 10 to run it. I have no home internet. Being a Mac head doesn't help, haven't used Windows since forever.

I guess I'm asking if Open Rails will run on my AMD card. If it does, will my computer specs be enough? I'm fine with 30 fps at least. Anything lower, I'll let this little fancy go before jumping through hoops.

I'm only interested in two routes from here and 3 Trainsimulations routes. Thoughts, ideas or a kick in the pants appreciated.

I see no reason that it will not be ok.
How are you going to get the downloads though?

My trusty Mac laptop and the local library.
A bit of a pain but that's what I get for wanting to live where we have to pump in sunshine.

Have a Smartphone phone? Then you have a Wifi hotspot. Then you need to get a Wifi card for the i3 and it is connected to the iNet.

My plan doesn't allow for tethering or hot spot.

I have a bigger problem. I bought this computer off of a guy I worked with a few years back. I have no serial number for Windows to update. So for now it's staying shut down until I buy one. I don't think it's pirated, I just feel uneasy about using it.

I'm a lot of things, a thief is not one of them. A new copy of Windows should fix my problem and give peace of mind.
