Has anyone done 3-Step in Open Rails?

I assume you mean protection for workers going between (or otherwise very close to) cars?

There is no Generator Field switch to my knowledge, but I do the other two steps: set full independent brake and reverser in Neutral

But how you do Generator Field switch?

You don't. I don't think such a control has ever been implemented in OR. Even if it has, it probably would require .eng file modification to work

I suggest buying Run8 , it has all the features you are asking about. In Open rails, its a enhanced version of MSTS.

Personally I don't believe you can power off and on your locomotives... Especially when you have multiple engines in a consist... OpenRails doesn't support that feature. Like Todd said it's an enhanced version of MSTS. Neither support the power off or powering up of engines.

Isn't there a command though in the hot keys to "turn on or off" a unit or what does that do, Ive never understood that.
