RTS Yardmaster Developing

Coding started this weekend for RTS Yardmaster. Shouldn't take too long as it's already partially functional in reporting train ID's every 15 seconds. Will be adding in duplicate detection in the morning and hopefully get into the car dabases for each yard for processing.

Here is a screen capture of the RTS Yardmaster window superimposed on my passenger view of P053 north of Jacksonville.



So far all it is doing is reading the header files of all AEI detectors about every 15 seconds. This particular screen will have some more functionality such as train graphs, logs, humping, assignments, trimming, releasing, or manual adjustments. For now it is just showing an update of the last train to pass along with the train length.

I've now fully tested that all the AEI data is pulling error free and running autonomously. This includes full car details parsed in appropriate fields necessary for tracking and yard management in the South East.

Tomorrow I'll work on the logging functions to bring in new data only and the file output database functions.

I haven't felt this good about RTS since the original beta program (in fact it's looking and feeling better).

I'm excited to say that the system is now live on my server and it appears to be stable and bug free (though I'll monitor and test this in the coming days). The program is running along side Run8 24/7 and updating the files as trains pass through. I'm very excited that I got this to work so quickly.

I'll add more features before releasing to the public, but it should be available withing the coming few weeks.

Actually I'm quite happy with it running now and will release it sooner than later. It's stable with very few known issues (only 1 that I've seen so far and it's very minor and won't be fixed before release). The programming has finished barring any major bug that comes up as I continue to run. I'm now focused on the Google Sheets side of the system which is more specific to the RTS server. I'll use that in a video showing what the software does before the end of the month then I'll release it.
