new computer old hard drive MSTS only on a drive by itself ok now to the dirt, all of the files in the routes are blank need apps to read them. do you use notepad or WordPad?
Ace files in the route folders Taga tool aceit just for looking at them?
I know I'm old and forgot more than I've ever learned but want to set this up to use.

You would have to reinstall all of the programs that you want to use.

This method is for when no app has already been assigned by Windows

Open File explorer
First make sure you have File Extensions displaying
(View Tab check box on right label says "File name extensions")
Go to where you have MSTS/ORTS content installed
Probably start working in the Global folder
Locate file types such as S, SD, ACE
select one
right click
Open with (Not Open - "Open with")
Choose radio button "Search through Windows"
Click Search button
next window click on "More apps"
Choose from list
Click on OK
