Thought I'd chuck one in here, coming up through the Horseshoe towards Emigrant Pass. I had to drop a SD45 on the front of the power provided for this train in the Busy Roseville session as I was having trouble restarting on the hill (and yes I should really buy some SP livery SD40's and 45's). Nice shot but I think this illustrates what I mean by this point in the hills, things should be looking a bit more rugged than portrayed here:

Missed this Vern, those trees do not look so 2D. Or cardboard cut out, as the other routes.

Trees are better but I just cannot take those terrain textures.

I'm assuming there have been no recent patches or updates to change that.

When I had a brief drive an evening or two ago, that manic jinking and jerking on curves was back again. Makes the game unplayable for me.

I see Vern, textures are pretty naff buddy. I haven't seen any updates about scenery.

What is the jinking all about buddy, is it something new and on all routes. Or just that new one, do you know ?

Been in there since V3 came out. It doesn't always manifest but occurs on all the routes, California (South and now North) plus the Florida collection. As soon as the loco hits a curve the view through the cab window begins a violent lateral jerk or jink as I described it. There was a video clip I uploaded to YT a while back when I first reported it and was somewhat dismissed by the fans as seeing things.

If anything it can be much worse than that and it certainly was on Donner. From the layman's eyes it looks like the calculations to put the train round the curve smoothly aren't being done correctly and the game is seeing it as a sequence of straight sections jumping to the next one.

As you know Vern i did run the game for quite a while after v3 was released. I can see what you mean in the video, as it is very pronounced. But i can honestly say i have never seen that here buddy.

Deffo not seeing things, because on your pc it is definitely happening. Others like myself might not have experienced it. But it is plain to see in the video.

Strange one Vern, might not be track related. But i don't know enough about software, to give any sensible reasons.

More Amtrak, departing Reno. Water textures are a bit grotty, not as nice as the smooth water.
