Both look very interesting, Vern. Route comes with loco's and stock as well. So good value for your money.

Steam loco looks like a bit of a beast for 3ft 6in gauge, enjoy buddy.

My mum grew up in this area west of Christchurch before the family moved down to Dunedin.
Although I visited NZ as a child I've never been back, sad to say.

Well the route is beautiful - Run 8 could learn a thing or two about how to do mountain textures from this.

The diesel loco sounds a bit subdued, possibly being a Caterpillar they are like that in reality. Only done a spot of shunting with the sparkie so can't really say about the sound and still to try the steam loco.

    Definitely worth the purchase though.

Well worth the outlay, then Vern.

Nice when you come across something a cut above, the rest.

Finally got to play with the Ja steam loco. Definitely a pro model as you need to control and continually adjust the oil feeds in addition to everything else. Not much time to look at the scenery, or speed limits. The sound could maybe be a bit better but that seems to be the (only) weakness with their diesel and electric engines too.

Sounds like the business then Vern. Apart from the weak sounds.

But nothing is ever perfect, buddy.

    True.

Anyway talking of sounds, I'm about to give the Roman Diesel a spin in ETS2 after your recommendation, have a night off the trains.

There is so much to do at present I really need to make up a gaming roster!

Don't shoot the messenger then, if you are not impressed, hahahhaha.

Open the window and crank up the volume.

My goodness Vern, you take it easy now with all this strenuous gaming activity.

I'll pop my thoughts down in the ETS thread!
