On the rebound from my slight disappointment with Donner. If I can squeeze another gift voucher in the shopping, might go back for another dip to get the Bulleid Light Pacifics and the West Somerset route. Latter not of particular interest in itself but needed for a lot of freeware routes.

Donner as in TSW2 or TSC Vern ? Hahahahahaha, i can just imagine you going around the supermarket. Plotting how you are going to get the next voucher in the trolley

Bullied's are well worth having. I really like most SR steam loco classes, LMS as well. Only stuff i do not buy is LNER or anything pre-grouping associated with them. Yup a pain buddy, i only have WSR for that reason.

Donner as in Run 8... I know we have discussed over in the R8 forum but use of those same grass terrain textures at sea level then on mountains 6000+ feet tall just jars more than the 2D trees. The infrastructure is nicely done, no doubt about that but there comes a point when the "looks aren't everything" mantra doesn't cut it.

Anyhow would advise against the Met Line and S7 stock. No career or timetabled scenarios, just standard. One didn't work and trying to restore saved game got the dreaded OOM crash. Refunded...

Oh beg your pardon Vern, i didn't even think of R8. I agree with a lot of the "looks are not everything" sentiments.

But without them, any game lacks immersion. Need both and we just do not get it with any of the train games.

They all offer an excellent one thing, but are never the completely rounded package.

JT Met is it Vern, too modern for me thank you buddy. Speaking of which, do you watch the Secrets Of The Underground series on telly.

Good chunk of it was about the Met last night. I never realised how far out of London it went, until i watched that episode.

44 miles i think they said originally. Good you got your money back on that buddy.

I have said previously, i am not a huge fan of Steam. But the try before you decide to keep feature. Is a very good idea, to not end up with rubbish permanently.

Yes it is (was) the JT Met or at least the version they gave DTG to put on Steam. Like you I really prefer the older days on the Underground. My first memories are from the mid to late sixties with the skirted stock on the Circle and District Lines or the A60's on the Met. Plus the 1938, 1959 and 1962 tube stock.

That could have been a good release in an earlier period, Vern. As it covers both termini at Amersham & Uxbridge. The latter station i know very well, from frequent personal visits. Nice alternate way to go up west, rather than the mainline. Never cost me a penny on my BR workman's pass, just had to pay for her indoors. Yup i remember all the older stock, very well buddy. About the only thing i miss about England, are the railways and LT trains and buses.

On a positive note just taken my first outing on Welsh Marches. Absolutely brilliant, definitely a keeper. Only running with the 47 at present, doing the Newport to Hereford leg of the railtour (kind of a shame all the scenarios have been split in two at Hereford). Bossman living up to their reputation. Looking forward to trying it with steam later on. A great shame we don’t have more heritage DMU’s in TS, as I remember my first trip up there on a six car formation, Class 123 Inter City DMU on the front with a Class 120 Cross Country on the rear. I will have to check the Workshop too for any scenarios with the 33 or 25 (think we have one in the game somewhere).

Glad you like it Vern, one of my faves for obvious reasons. Split scenarios, akin to short routes.

Developers think we all have the attention spans, of a flea. Yup not enough modernisation plan dmu's in game.

123's are another of my faves, along with the 120's. We had them on the WR, on the outer suburban services to Oxford.

But they also got used a lot on, some of the Reading - Paddington services. All stations to Slough and then fast to Ealing Broadway and Paddington. Yup buddy 33 and 25 in game, in both Green & Blue liveries i believe.
