    >Your link is bogus

    Trainsim kills its own links?

That file fixed the problem here?

If you want further help, you would need to post a log file of the running of that car.

Dear bootednancy: How pleasant to see someone harken back to the bad ole days and go "FULL OTTO" <<< one suggestion, to do it properly one must use LARGE RED TYPE SmileyFace.jpg

Seriously, I can sympathize...learning how to use the new ".inc" files, OpenRails folders, and the other new methods introduced & accepted by the OR code can be ...well...frustrating. I know, having gone through the same learning curve about 5-6 years ago or so. Let it go for a while, sim a little, come back to it later...it really will pay to try to work through it and learn how to use the Navs files, inc files.

    Hi Doug,
As an MSTS user, I can understand your frustration - I took one look at the files and readmes and thought "What the Hell"!!
However, I'll assume that you've been able to follow the instructions and have ended up with 4 folders in the TRAINSET folder :
    navs_100t4_inix, navs_100t4_inix_2, NAVS_COMMON and NAVS_Hopper_100t_Quad_Type1_BASE.

    If so, you're almost there

You say that you made a consist with the TSRE5 ConsistEditor. If you saw the consist being created along the bottom panel of the program, then you're very close! Maybe you hadn't completed the File Name and Display Name boxes before clicking File and Save?

    Cheers,

Just downloaded and installed navs_hopper_100t_quad_type1_base.zip and navs_100t4_inlx.zip files.

TSRE-CE displays all the NAVS_INLX_100T_Quad_110## WAGs from 11002 to 11087 both the individual WAG pic and in the consist pic.

And BTW I did not read the instructions, I just unzipped the folders in the ZIPs to the Trainset folder.

Well...everybody's cook book ideas ARE FAILURES.............I HAVE INSTALLED THE "avs_hopper_100t_quad_type1_base.zip " and INLX and RDG files to the Trainset folder.

The screenshot is what I AM looking at.....and YES Charles, don't be so arrogant you can't read directions....while OR isn't really new to us, these NAVS files ARE for ones that have handled the original MSTS files of 20 years ago.

I have NO idea why I am not getting the thumbnails or the RDG car files are NOT showing up in the consist I made.

So Ged and Gerry thanks for your "frustration factor"......the rest of you, the snotty comments are NOT ONE BIT OF A HELP

But what happens when you try to RUN that consist in-game? Try that, and then post that OpenRailsLog.txt file here.

Hey Doug, one suggestion -- you did not mention doing this, perhaps you did?
Look at the TSRE log.txt file, it is in the TSRE folder, the log will contain information about any problems.

I may have missed this...but did you try to open specific car file in shape viewer? Just to make sure the problem was with TSRE?

    Hi Doug,
    You are NOT alone!!
Thumbnails for the RDG hoppers do not show in the right-hand panel for me, either!
Also, when double-clicked, the wagon's title appears in the consist window, but overwriting the second half of the previously added wagon's title; no image of the wagon is displayed.

However, the solution, as always, is to read the instructions carefully! I originally downloaded the 70t pack instead of the 100t pack!!
You need to download navs_hopper_100t_triple_type1.base.zip and add the two folders into TRAINSET.

Now the thumbnails show in OR/CE and the wagons appear correctly on Open Rails.

    Cheers,
    Ged

Ged, just to make sure, in case people are actually reading this thread...

To use the NAVs files you have to start with the navs_hopper_100t_triple_type1.base.zip file and then add other NAVS downloads from the library?
