To use Trainz to the full you either need a subscription or a First Class Ticket for DLS.

Even buying the game outright, there is still a monthly payment. To have any hope of using all the assets on the DLS.

I deffo would not pay £55 sterling for any game. So i subscribe to Gold when i feel like it, it's monthly so any time i choose i can end it.

Trainz has many good points, but also a good few bad points. TSW3 has mostly bad points, with one or two things that are ok.

TS Classic is dated and has always had limited functionality. No AI shunting for a start. Run8 has many good features, none really bad. But the scenery and textures are terrible and low res.

Put them all together and in my opinion, you still would not have a top class game.

I hear you re the DLS - I have been persisting with the free service. Now and again it does give a burst of higher speed, but usually manages around 9 or 10 kb/s. Even the non sub service here is faster! What I don't know is whether it resumes any large files you partly downloaded the last time.

Emmett says it will NOT resume the file at least in 2019 version.

    Thanks

Emmett is my son. He is the expert when it comes to TRS19 as he's done the most with it though not as much lately. I've been out of it now for about a year.

    Thanks

Nice one Sean, he is your Trainz expert then.

You will get cannot download file, cannot resume file, crappy download speeds. Even with an FCT or membership.

If you ask why on their forum, you are met with complete silence from N$V.

Guess it's my turn. The graphics were nice, some activities held my interest for a time, oh so long ago in my PC infancy. The FCT feature I never did get the hang of, like Mike pointed out, continual errors, a download of content could take days, hell, never did complete a single download. What questions I asked, (how-to's) those that cared to comment, only offered what seemed obvious things to look into in the first place. Those in charge, never offering a single line. Now that I've moved into the modern era, don't so much as watch any piece of propaganda from those folks. Honestly for a time I really enjoyed the game B17, at the time, was so feeling left out /angry / you name it, used to envision during our bombing runs, setting the Norden for their location. Anyways, more power to them, feel sorry for those that fall under their spell, commend those with enough sense to run as fast as possible, lol look where it took me, lol straight to RL's loving community.
