    Default SILENT HUNTER 4 Please.

I have not used this game since I changed from Windows 7 to Windows 10,

However, having Reinstalled Silent Hunter to Windows 10 I am now getting following message :-

"This app blocked for your Protection"

    Any help please?

    Many thanks

    Paul.

    Hi Derek.

when following the Instructions in this download When you get to Item 4, Click the checkbox next to Unblock so that a checkmark appears.

Unblock box to check should be under the advanced Box but there is nothing under the advanced box to check

Really annoyed about this one as it was working OK Originally until I had to Reset my computer last week after making sure it kept all of my Files.

Reinstalling Silent Hunter 4 didn't solve the prpblem either.

    Any Ideas please?

    Many thanks.

Try creating an exemption in Win Security. For SH4, you can either exempt a file from being scanned or a whole folder. Try the folder option first.

Paul not very good at explaining things in txt, but here goes..................

On the taskbar, bottom right near where clock is, choose "show hidden icons". In there you have a white shield icon, which is Windows Security. Double left click it to open.

Next window is the Windows Security options screen. In the left pane under HOME, choose Virus & threat protection, click once.

In that screen there are 4 options, you want the second one down....Virus and threat protection settings. Click Manage Settings....... once. On the next screen scroll down to........ Exclusions. Choose Add or remove exclusions...........click once.

In the next screen you will see in grey........ Add an exclusion.....click the + and choose folder. In the next pop up window search for the MAIN folder that Silent Hunter is installed in.

Double click the folder..........then at bottom right............. click......... Select Folder.

That will auto add the main SH4 folder to your Windows Security Excluded folders.

Might not solve the problem, but it is worth a shot.

Well explained, Mike. I followed it without any problem.

However, as you are both in Wales, I'm wondering why you didn't just pop up the road and show him personally.

    Nice one Paul, good luck.

That is good to know Bruce, thank you.

Because Paul is up in Gogland (North Wales) and i am in the far South West. It's scary going up there
