Coming soon, once I decide which numbers to do. I'm thinking 2001 and 2008, as they had similar chevrons (as far as I can tell). 2001 (and 2000) had the FL logo and lettering stripped away at some point, and I plan to include that feature while leaving 2008 in fresh paint.

I have a love/hate relationship with the FL paint. It's definitely my favorite fallen flag scheme (even when it wasn't yet fallen). And is also such a pain to recreate--lining up stripes, getting the chevron in order, and then adding the details back in...bleh. So I'm glad these are nearly done.

These will go in a standalone folder, but can probably be set up to be dumped in any other of my CRR_GP38 folders if you want to overwrite stuff. Which is why I think I'll do 2001 and 2008. I want to leave the class leader (2000) alone, and I haven't done any variations of 2001 or 2008 yet. And these should be the final GP38 CRR variants from me.

Always nice to see more Family Lines units. Thank you!

Someone posted a question over in the screenshot forum about SBD paint GP38s. Rather than take over that thread, I thought I'd post here...

Unless somebody beats me to it, I have plans to release SBD and CSX era liveries on this CRR GP38 model, as a couple of the CRR geeps made it into several different paint schemes (including SBD) with very few, if any, physical modifications to their shell. For all intents and purposes, the Family Lines versions are essentially done--it's just a matter of updating my base FL paint to include SBD or CSX reporting marks and proper numbers, and adding weathering. The SBD and CSX liveries will take a little time. I was planning on doing a SBD era package, to include FL and SBD liveries/numbers, to be followed by a CSX era package, to include CSX numbers on FL, SBD, and 2 different CSX (Grey, and Blue) liveries.

I might even go back and revisit the CRR SD40 models as well, with the same intention of making SBD and CSX era versions.

What I have so far for the SBD paint version (with the uploaded CRR FL version just for reference). There are very few photos of former CRR GP38s in SBD paint (and I find that the grey color on all these units is open to interpretation...), so this may not be 100% accurate when finished.

I'm going to do SBD (and FL) versions with SBD numbering first (6274 for the SBD paint and 6276, possibly 6278 for the FL paint), then will do another version of SBD and FL paint with CSX sublettering and numbering. SBD 6274/CSX 2183 is the only CRR GP38 I've found that made it into SBD paint and also was not modified (i.e. oil filter/dynamic brake housing, plow, and bell all intact as original). CSX 2183 eventually made it into the grey ghost paint, and remained intact in that scheme as well. I plan to do that version, too.

Clinchfield 2003 (delivered in CRR grey paint, then painted in CRR black, and eventually CRR FL) -> SBD 6274 (FL paint -> SBD paint) -> CSX 2183 (SBD paint -> GG paint)

Started the CSXT versions today. CSX 2180 is former SBD 6271, nee CRR 2000. Rivet counters will spot inaccuracies, but the models are close enough to be good visual representations. I plan to do a couple of FL units, a SBD unit, and a CSX stealth unit (which, unfortunately, carries the same number as the SBD unit as happened IRL).
