    Default RTS Yardmaster Released

Well I finally got around to compiling the program I was using this past summer. I had recently joined a community of like minded individuals and thought it was only fair to share it here. After all some people don't think I complete my goals and this one was completed this past summer for my own personal use.

It basically reads and monitors the XML detectors in and around Waycross and creates a report. I've actually done videos earlier this summer with it in action.

The file should be in the library shortly. But I've also posted it to my discord and the Run8 enhancement community V2 discord.

    Thanks

I think it only works for V3 because it reads the detector AEI's. I believe that was new for V3 if I'm not mistaking.

    Thanks

Sean, the zip file is blocked by malwarebytes (when downloading from Discord).

Could you share the readme here? I'm curious what it does/how it works.

    Thanks!

    RTS Yardmaster for Run8 Waycross

Note this is a very basic parser that runs as a loop to check all AEI detectors in the Waycross area. It will do an itial check for the last train to cross the detector (which could be duplicate data). It will then continue to run in the background. About every 15 seconds (depending on your PC speed) it will check the latest data. If new data is found it will then report it as well.

All data is pooled and written in the Waycross text file. It can be used as is or manipulated by inputing into spreadsheets, Google Sheets, etc. I have used this many times in my runs in Waycross to keep track of what cars have entered and exited the Waycross yard limits. This will also include through traffic. How you use this data is up to you. But reading the text file I find easier to include in Google Sheets than XML. The ability to continuously update helps a Waycross yardmaster know the current cars within his yard limits, and plan various tasks to other crews.

All the files in this archive need to be placed into the AEI directory of Waycross. For example I use E:\Run8Studios\Run8 Train Simulator V3\Content\V3Routes\Regions\HRS_Southeast\AEI

To begin run the executable RTS Yardmaster and a window will appear. This means the program is working and will monitor all changes.

Unfortunately it's not so easy to close this program. I've tried error trapping but because a continuous loop is running it's difficult to capture keybaord input in the console I'm using. In order to close this program you will either need to use task manager, or it will simply stop running when you shut down your computer.

This software DOES NOT make changes to any other files so backups are not necessary. The only file written is the text file. However I can't be held responsible for any issues this may cause. Use at your own risk and backup whatever you feel is necessary.

It was also uploaded to the file library here yesterday. Not sure if it's up yet.

I dug back in recent archives and found the live stream where I begin running the system in a Google Sheet at Waycross. Of course this was already complete in the summer but I'm finally getting to release this now.
