    Really great, Simrail.
Went on EN4, took over a freight on the southern route heading for Katowice. Managed to drive about 3km before being brought to a stand at a red signal alongside a passenger in the same direction. Signal box ahead controlled by a player, perusing the interactive map looks like he had just stopped all the trains so the AI controlling where I stood couldn't call a route forward for either my train or the AI.

Which is why MP is a lottery and yes you could get a good run, but I just wasted 30 minutes going nowhere which could have been spent more productively elsewhere. Which is why SimRail desperately needs the MP equivalent game available in SP (along with the ability to save of course).

And no one is saying TSW or TSC is perfect, they ain't. But SimRail is not the Holy Grail some thought it would be either.

Well as far as Mike I'm not sure what never I touched, but that is what the ignore button is for I guess.

It has it's issues and barely went into EA. I know there is lots of debate as to when a train is worthy of being EA, alpha, and every other designation a developer puts on a game. To me Railroader appears much further along but they will not release it yet as they want to get some more issues dealt with. That is a decision a developer makes and again it's all about risk and reward. By putting out software that is not complete it's going to tick some people off because they don't do their homework. The risk is how many people are going to be in that boat vs how much money can they generate along with help along the way from a player base who is interested in playing.

Honestly right now in my opinon of course Run8 was the best train simulator on the planet. They are not the best in North America. Simrail is the best train simulator in Europe. I remember having these conversations with people who were critical of Run8 (and yes I have been vocal with my criticism and praise of Run8). It appears to be a technically sound simulator with known AI issues.

From what I understand and it's difficult with translation SimRail was supposed to originally be ready for full release. But they ran into unexpected issues during the playtest. They put an olive branch out there saying they could create more scenerios if it helped. But these scenerios don't even have random AI. I ran the other night though it was challenging it was rather boring. The signal boxes have also become boring with only 2 that I want to run that are in very high demand even on slow servers.

They need to develop the AI in order for it to work not only in MP but from what I understand single player. It is very early still so for now they have my money and I'll patiently wait and see what they come up with.

As for me personally I'm from North America and enjoy the random and varied freight operations it offers. This is why I took inspiration from SimRail as well as an idea I had last year and realized I could persue it. It makes a great first Unity project I plan on completing and is surprisingly a lot of fun to create. Having an artist in Scott who has plenty of time and creativity on his hands also keeps me on my feet to help get it all together. Right now he is waiting for me to catch up, and is resting his eyes which I don't blame him.

Railroader is a good one in early 2023 that I'm eagerly awaiting to get my hands on. I'm pretty confident Run8 and SimRail will continue to grow at whatever pace they grow at over time. I have both the current versions and will happily be back.

    Thanks

No, it definitely could not be sufficient.

The so-called "road map" may not have said anything, but in this post I included, verbatim, what was posted by a developer in response to questions about saving.

Open Rails, without a shadow of doubt, if you want more than California, Arizona and Florida.

A vast array of routes, locomotives (including steam and electric), rolling stock, railroad companies.....all available and much is free-of-charge.

Now I might be barking up the wrong tree here and will retract if proved incorrect, but the devs also seem to be deleting some bug reports.

I reported a fairly significant sound issue (audible speech in the background while running the EU07 with the cab window open). Not only did my post not appear after mod approval, it now seems to have vanished altogether.

Open Rails is 100% the best train game for any region Bruce. Only the dated graphics let it down. Which nobody can quibble about, because it is FREE. Even a save game function, well i never.

Vern, go steady now buddy. You do know that side effects of covid, is paranoia

I also meant to ask you, a few days back how you are feeling now ?

    Mike.
