    Unhappy What happened to www.3dtrains.com

Hi, I have a question. Can anyone tell me what happened to www.3dtrains.com, why and when, whether it will ever return and whether all of its products are currently available elsewhere? Thank you so much for your help.

    Sincerely,
    Connor Richey

The short answer is that their website has been deactivated, and their payware products are not available for purchase elsewhere.

That's all I know right now. It's always possible that a site will return or that arrangements will be made to sell elsewhere.

    Default 3D Trains WHOIS change

I noticed this while doing a WHOIS through ICANN lookup.

    Domain Status:
    clientDeleteProhibited
    clientRenewProhibited
    clientTransferProhibited
    clientUpdateProhibited

The other 3 are fairly common due to any domain shut down, but clientRenewProhibited is unique. Normally if payment is not made you will see clientHold which is the blanket shutdown code for nonpayment of domain renewal. This status is new as of 2023 as far as I can tell. 3DTrains is set to expire from the registrar in April.

"This status code tells your domain's registry to reject requests to renew your domain. It is an uncommon status that is usually enacted during legal disputes or when your domain is subject to deletion."

I wonder what might be going on? Just figured I'd bring this forward to the community. I still hold out hope that 3dTrains may return to us one day. One can only dream.
You ain't stopping at this hotel, kid. My hotel! The stars at night, I put 'em there. And I know the presidents, all of them. And I go where I d*** well please. Even the chairman of the New York Central can't do it better. My road, kid, and I don't give lessons and I don't take partners. -Lee Marvin

With it subject to deletion, I'd wager that the parties at be have informed the host they in fact do not plan to renew and at the end of the domain registration it will be deleted.

Upon further investigation and talking with the registrar support line that does appear to me the case. The assign that to accounts that have been asked to be removed or accounts who bank accounts have locked the registrar out due to closure or request to decline.

I'm gonna miss you 3D Trains

    Thanks for the memories.

Default Scalerail and Scaleroad (3Dtrains) download for MsTs

    Hello,

I have a Msts/open rails route that I would love to run, but it requires 3DTrains Scalerail and Scaleroads. Since this was freeware at the time on the 3DTrains website, I was hoping someone could help me to find the files needed.

Are these included in any (payware) route or available anywhere?

    Many thanks!

It has been mentioned before that the TrainSimulation.net Mullan Pass route includes Scalerail and Scaleroads.

I don't currently own that but maybe somebody else can confirm if that's true or not.

Worth noting that the Scale Rails / Scale Roads shapes included with Mullan will ONLY work with DDS textures. There is a reason the TrainSimulations installers by default point to a separate TrainSimulations install - it can mess up the way other routes function if someone who doesn't know what they're doing tries installing the TrainSimulations ScaleRail/Roads shapes into a non-TrainSimulations-specific install. I would not recommend it
