Kodachrome fail

Just for future reference for the Trainsimulations painting crew, when SP and ATSF both began painting their kodachrome units, the big billboard lettering was positioned so that after the merger was approved, all they would need to do is add the big billboard SP to SF units, and add the SF lettering to SP units.


Espee units, on the left side, SP was placed towards the cab allowing SF to be added later closer to the radiator





On the right side, the SP was placed towards the radiator, so SF could later be added towards the cab





Santa Fe units, on the left, SF was placed near the radiators, so SP could later be added near the cab.

Your left side lettering was correct on the recent SD45 pack.





Your right side lettering was incorrect on the recent SD45 pack. Fail.




Just pointing this out before more Kodachromes get released. There actually was post-merger logic applied to the pre-merger painting, an unwritten (among railfans) rule that many people with observation skills were able to pick up on.
