I do have to ask one question, having skipped through one of the YT clips - what percentage of the route is enclosed in the "avenue of trees", so to speak? Are there plenty of open sections where distant scenery and hills can be seen?

I guess Bakersfild Sub makes up for having to pay for Needles a long time ago......

Looks nice but I doubt I'll be using it. My son is interested in Fitzgerald. I just told him you can buy it if you want.

Still the best simulator in North America but it doesn't keep my interest. One other thing that random weight thing imho is useless. When I first heard about it I thought that is really cool. But then I started spawning trains and realized there was no randomization including trains that would serve industries. I would imagine the same thing happens to cars loading at industries.
For all the trouble of accurately getting the right random weights, it's a shame this wasn't included in the spawning and loading of cars at industries.

The scenery upgrades look good as well as the new assets. Having a new free route in Bakersfield is a nice gesture. Not sure why they are still selling it on their site unless it was NOT supposed to be included in the update. Unfortunately it's not enough these days to get my attention for long. It's not just Run8 it seems to be all simulators these days.

    Thanks

Sean I keep 2 copies of the sim on my PC.

One has all the DLC, the 2nd copy is base game only.

I am not seeing Bakersfield in my 2nd copy. No map assets, no dispatch screen. My launcher screen shows 3 routes.

As best I can tell, update 6 does not include Bakersfield.

Vern, pardon my antipodean ignorance, but what does "NVM" mean?

    NVM = NeVer Mind!

As regards the Fitz., well it does appear to have a fair bit of potential with new industry to serve. What I've seen of the main line so far it is significantly more graded and curved than the rest of the Florida and Georgia network.

Slight downers, well yes the avenue of trees is alive and kicking hiding any distant views. Ironically if this was to avoid performance issues the opposite seems the case. My smooth 30 FPS now having a return of the "jinking" effect that I reported previously until I dropped my target FPS from 60 to 30. Otto AI DS seems to be struggling - in the scenario I started a number of trains are stood on passing tracks, crewed by AI drivers but either Otto is not clearing the signal or the trains are just sitting there.

Bakersfield Sub - already bought that, so missed out on the freebie, if that's what it was.

It's been found that installing the A-Line / Waycross Update very last is actully the best option. The part about "Compatibility with the CSX Fitzgerald Sub Route addon" doesn't mean that it has to be installed prior to the Fitz though.

    Thanks, squire.

With regard to the Fitz, I'll give that a miss, I think, due to the greenery.

There is definitely something wrong with AI train movement on this route.
After reloading my saved session found several AI trains sat there "dead". Had to temporarily relinquish my train, take over the stuck ones and hand back to AI. Got them moving controlling DS myself but hand back to Otto and they just come up against a red signal with no attempt to route and clear the train.

So not sure at this point whether it's an issue with the route or something changed in the core.

    Jason?
