well, as an alpha test... it's still crude... coupler height needs some tweaking... and the upper deck cables are still missing. I was working on some 68 Chevy Vans for it, I might finish them.

Really nice work Pete, been having fun with the Beta. Don't know if you're aware...there's a group 'Open Autorack Memories' on Facebook with lots of impressive modelers and former rr/auto industry folks there. They might be able to help you with drawings and dimensional info. They've been a great resource for my re-skinning and mod projects.

I have checked out the beta of the open autorack Pete, and it's shaping up to be a really good model. Fits well with the semi-enclosed autoracks from TS as well!

    Default Autorack Loads

"Years ago someone asked if they could use the autoracks and add a FA with autos to them and post them to the library but I can't remember if he did or not."

That was me Paul. I had the idea to use some of James Hinman's great scenery object vehicles as a single drop-in load for your racks that would match the cars era. James graciously created a shape of 70's-era AMC Gremlins lined up as a load that could be added as an FA and I created new artwork for the textures. Unfortunately the FA shape file proved to be almost as large as the car itself, and with PC speeds at the time and OR's limited abilities compared to now, a carload of them would have dragged down some users systems badly so the project just died on the vine and was never released.

I really appreciated your cooperation in allowing us to try this Paul, and providing us with the source files was a great help.

Yeah, that's a reason why Imt trying to make a 60's Era Chevy Van that won't make the model a beast when it's done since it will hold 10 of them.

One thing I have noticed a lack thereof, is 45 foot Fruehauf trailers smooth and ribbed that were representative of trailers found on TOFC to represent B&O trailer Jets. Unless there are some out there evading my eyes.

I believe TrainSimulations has a few sets that have 45' trailers. All appear to be smooth side. The Chessie set, one of the UP sets, and the Rock Island set comes with classic 45' trailers. Haven't seen any ribbed trailers anywhere.

I don't think anyone's brought this up, but this is something I would really like to see for ORTS.

    Metroliners.

No, not the cab cars that Amtrak rebuilt (we have those already), but the original EMU's that came out of the Budd plant in the 60's. We have just about every piece of rolling stock that turned a wheel on the Northeast Corridor except for those.
