Just verify the local game files, rather than delete everything Dave.

Failing that, go on the DTG forum and look to see if anyone else is having the same problems.

Sorry i cannot be more helpful buddy. The problems after the update, were all to do with x64 and did not affect the x32 launch.

I deleted Steam and did a clean install and reinstalled Trains Sim and it still isn't working. What to do??? Check all requirements for the games and that is correct. Will have to keep trying.

Maybe, if you haven't already, put a ticket in with DTG? I gather quite a few players have been having trouble with the latest version. I hope you get it sorted!

DTG won't do jack!! If you're lucky, maybe in 3-4 years they'll get back to you. A verify check is worthless. Takes forever and it'll jack up any payware route you modified resetting to it's original state. In my case, it jacked some third party DLC either completely removing it or parts of it. A verify check is like a stupid update. It's a roll of the dice and might make the issue(s) worse. That's my take. This last update really did a number on the sim. Even with everything supposedly fixed, users still can even get to the startup menu or experience a crash when the start up menu pops up. And it sounds like DTG screwed up the 64 bit again similar to when it first came out 3-4 years back and many couldn't run the sim in 64 bit.

If enough players with his issue put tickets in maybe it will get noticed and something will be done about it? Posting on a forum isn't enough, especially one that isn't constantly patrolled by DTG community managers. None of us here have a solution for him, so what does it hurt to put a ticket in, really? Takes a few minutes at most and gives you at least some chance to have your issue solved.

A verify check is a good tool to use in order to make sure all the files are present. I always run it after downloading new content, or re-downloading older content I'd uninstalled before, especially if I've been busy working on my pc while the download and installation is in progress. Contrary to your assertion the verify check is useless I've not had the issue of losing DLC, DTG's or external, so won't comment on that. I guess it's a case of YMMV.

    Kind regards,
    Dave
