Default NFL 2023 Free Agency Frenzy

OK, I'm not a happy camper as a Green Bay Packers fan... we lost a couple great players this week to free agency. And we picked up none, which seems to be the norm although there have been a couple re-signings.

TE Robert Tonyan is going to the Bears... This guts me, but he's from two towns over in McHenry, so it's cool to see him staying close to home.

WR Alan Lazard is going to the Jets... they gave him the money he's probably worth, and there's some thought that he's betting on Aaron Rodgers heading there as well.

    Anyone else celebrating or mourning?...

Although she is some 15,000 kms away from Wisconsin, my daughter (42) has followed the Packers since 1998, the year she finished college and became an18-year old adult......or so she thought she was at the time.

Anyway, we have been able to watch NFL since the 1970s (I sort of follow the Raiders), when recorded highlights would be shown on one of the national networks.
Nowadays, of course, we can stream it....as my daughter does.

I will sound her out on whether she has any feelings at all about the free-agency situation and, if she does, I'll rub salt into her wound!

Interesting to see that the Bills are interested in Elliott. Love to see my Broncos go get him. Denver could use a inside runner and someone down inside the 5. Yes, he's no longer a every down back but could still be very effective if used in the right way.

I think GB will in the long run be better off going with Love at QB which they apparently have done. Pretty clear GB doesn't want Rodgers. Maybe when the game is on the line Love won't choke followed by blaming those around him.

My oldest son is a die-hard Cowboys fan and took Elliott's cut very hard.

We've always known we would have to face life without Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay, and I was ready for that last year. It'll be interesting to see how the offense evolves to Jordan Love's talents.
