    Default Rolling Stock Query

    Anyone tell me which wagons on the store. I need to purchase, to replace the generic ones at the front of the consist please.

    Looks like one of the three well-car packs. You can check using the Train Maker Upper (ctrl-F1 iirc), check the list of well-cars and if they are greyed out you don't have 'em. Good luck.

    If you're in multiplayer, you may not have access to the consist editor.

    Here are a few other possiblities for hunting down the content:

    #1) Tagger - the tagger will usually tell you the car type, though it will not tell you the specific car skin.

    #2) Auto Save Train.xml file
    C:\Run8Studios\Run8 Train Simulator V3\Content\V3Routes\Regions\SouthernCA\AutoSaves\A uto Save Train.xml
    this XML file will have the specific models of each car in your active train.
    Note this file is saved automatically, as often as every 2 minutes, or as infrequently as every 10 minutes depending on your setting.

    Open this XML file and look for a rvXMLfilename entry, here's an example:

    <RailVehicleStateClass>
    <rvXMLfilename>R8_PlasticPelletHopper_ACF5250_BPRX 01.xml</rvXMLfilename>
    <unitType>US_Freightcar</unitType>
    <currentRoutePrefix>

    Now take a look at the rolling stock database on the depot:
    https://www.thedepotserver.com/refer...ndex.php?f=all

    Do a control-F in your browser and put in the rvxmlfilename entry, but without the XML

    The website will tell you what pack it's from.

    Mike is not a multiplayer.

    They are definitely well-cars, Mike....so as per Mr. Maple Leaf's response , you can check which ones are missing using the Train maker-upper function.

    The TMU or consist list will tell you the type but the problem comes where there is more than one pack with different liveries. In a lovely, bubbly ideal world the game would be set up so that clicking on a not owned asset placeholder would open a box with the details and even a hot link to the relevant part of the store page! This is also why as I added in the Suggestion thread, you need to be able to fully examine AI trains without giving up control of the player train.

    Thank you everyone much appreciated. Sorry if this is completely wrong, but they don't look like what i know as a well car.

    I thought they were box cars or refigerated cars. Good job i asked then. Will fire up the game and have a look at the TMU.

    Thanks again guys.

    We use the boxcar as a placeholder for non purchased rolling stock, the Train information will give you an idea, there are actually 3 Well Car Packs on the website
