Default Tips for Implementing Realistic Train Signaling in MSTS Route?

I am currently creating a route in Microsoft Train Simulator and am looking for recommendations on how to accurately represent realistic train signaling systems. What are some tools or resources available that can assist me in achieving this goal, and what are some best practices for implementing train signaling in my route?

Welcome to route building. What part of the world are you planning to model? There are some good primers on signaling but they vary globally.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm planning to model a route in the United States, specifically on the Northeast Corridor. I've been doing some research on signaling systems, but it seems like there's a lot to learn. Do you have any recommendations for resources or tutorials that could help me get started with understanding the basics of train signaling and implementing them in my route? Additionally, I'm curious about any best practices or tips you might have for creating a realistic and engaging train signaling system that will enhance the overall experience for players.

I've made quite a few US signal systems, including some in use on the Northeast Corridor. My systems are meant to work in Open Rails only, so if you're going for MSTS compatibility, I can give you some pointers, but my knowledge on some of the MSTS-specific tricks is a bit rusty

There are a bunch of online references for overviews of signaling...

    Here are a couple:

http://www.lundsten.dk/us_signaling/ <----- Great overview of basic signaling methodology

https://railroadsignals.us/rulebooks/rulebooks.htm <---- Look for the PRR guides for specific signal aspects
