MSTS/OR FGE Southern 50 Foot Boxcars. Five 50 foot boxcars for the Southern Railroad. A great deal of these cars did not make it into the rebuild program just due to age and how bad some were. Those that did pass were repainted into the FGE Solid Cold, Solid Gold, and Chiller logos. Fruit Growers Express (FGE) was a railroad refrigerator car leasing company that began as a produce-hauling subsidiary of Armour and Company's private refrigerator car line. Its customers complained they were overcharged. In 1919 the Federal Trade Commission ordered the company's sale for anti-trust reasons. Note: SLI TS is known to reuse S files for other cars so chances are in your favor you may have the shape from a different set. Thank you to SLI/TS for the wonderful repaint policy. Repaints by Michelle. Fonts Pete Willard.
