    Run8 V3 Update 14 and MP15 Pak 2 released

    New update and new goodies.....

    #2
3 new station models replaced the generic or reused amtrak stations in the southeast, really nice to see that!

And I'm sure the NS guys are happy with the addition of the new MP15's!

A follow up to the Release of Update 14 and the MP15's pak 2

Changelog from update is as follows

      Run8 V3 Change Log
      Update14

      • Oh FFS: Fixed another programming error regarding wheel-slip conditions in Reverse causing runaway
tractive-effort on some locomotives. While this was not a problem specific to the MP15s, it turns out they
were the first locos that were able to get into this particular condition exposing the mistake
      • Make Otto Great Again
      ◦ Otto's had his attitude adjusted so that he'll allow trains to follow each other a bit moBetta
      ◦ Fixed a coding mistake that would prevent Otto from being able to properly extend a routing, which
would then result in all that train's signals getting dropped
      ◦ Fixed a related coding error that would cause a seemingly "stuck" train
      ◦ Otto is now able to attempt to sideline an inferior train when preceding a superior train ("Z" or Amtrak).
The inferior train must be within a few signals ahead of the superior train, and this will generally only
work in single-track-siding territory. So all other trains from I's down to M, H, C,U tumble below the Priority 1 train.
This feature can be disabled in the DS Menu

      • Bakersfield Sub:
      ◦ Fixed a standoff situation at CP Fresno regarding Amtrak
      • San Bernardino Sub:
      ◦ Fixed a standoff situation regarding either outside-end of DT Jct and Los Nietos, where Otto could cause
trains to go head to head out of Bandini and\or Santa Fe Springs
      ◦ Fixed standoff situations at Highgrove M1 EB and M2 WB
      ◦ Added length limits for several diverging routings between Hobart and Bandini to prevent Otto
overhanging those control points and blocking multiple tracks

      • A-Line:
      ◦ The signal at the north end of Solite has been moved so that the industry spur switch is not within the
      control point
      • I Was Blind But Now I See: We've increased the light exposure value at night to make it easier to see
      • You Wanted It, You Got It: In the Host Network Menu there is now an option for filtering out those useful fun
words that one generally can't say in church, you know, the stuff you heard Uncle Chuck say during a bad day
of fishing. Such words will be censored from the offending text message before being rebroadcast to the
network. This option can also be set in the Host's AutoServerConfig using the new <UseCussFilter> xml tag
      (true\false value)

MP15 pack 2 has more great motive power for using as switchers or for local power, so between both packs 1 and 2 there is a nice assortment with Run8's great physics

      Work Safe play hard

Lighter nights is a plus for me, particularly doing industry or other switching. The one thing I hate in TSW is the almost pitch black night time. Particularly around large towns and cities the environment should be awash with ambient light pollution.

Looks like it’s time to set T.W and S..R..l aside for a few evenings and get back to what does it best! Run 8!!

Vern, I suspect you know this, but others may not so I'll post it here:

You can change the time of day in Run8, even when working on a server with others.
I've used this many times to change "Night to Day" so I can see a little better if I'm on a server in the evening. The time change only applies to my PC and does not interfere with others on the server.

Oh yes I have done that, also frozen time, but it can mess with the "purity" of leaving industry cars to complete in real time.

That is true for single user mode.
If you're on a server, the clock on the server always prevails.

I only ever play SP, Jack. No real interest in MP.

Anyway update applied and everything working okay, nothing seems to have broken so enjoying finishing up switching the Buttonwillow branch.

Sadly no, so not much choice other than to use MP, at the moment. At least the people behind Run 8 realised the importance of a robust single player game alongside the MP experience!
